BIO

BORN IN Port-au-Prince, HAITI, Yven was never exposed to the DJ culture, but growing up in Haiti in the 90s and early 2000s good music was always around. As a child being hauled to family events and parties exposed him to an era in music way before his time. 

Yven quickly fell in love with music. It wasn’t until the year 2004, he decided to start a collection. He began collecting albums which back then they were in forms of CDs then eventually evolved to a plethora genres organized by year. As time went on the collection expanded massively as well as his admiration towards different musical artist and sounds.

In late 2010 he decided to buy a pair of turntables. Yven began to teach himself the art of mixing and blending records. He then began to brainstorm for Dj names and came up DJ Heavysoundz. Over time he started to create mixed CDs to pass them around at clubs and DJ at BBQs and small gatherings for friends. 

It wasn’t until 2011 he decided to remove “soundz” in his name to leave it as just Dj Heavy. 

Since then DJ Heavy has become prominent in the Music, Club, and DJ scene.

Spinning at all the hot parties in NJ and even playing on NJ’s top Caribbean Radio station. 

DJ Heavy has been seen taking over numerous Clubs and Venues all over NYC and NJ. He managed to take his talents all over the U.S. as well as overseas. But it didn’t stop there. He has also been seen spinning at events with celebrities in the Haitian Music Industry (HMI), as well as one of the biggest Festivals in Florida “ Haitian Kompas Festival “ , amongst other celebrities are; Kodak Black, Bow wow, TREYSONG, Fridayy, Gyptian, Dadju, Joé Dwèt Filé, Tayc, Vegedream, Alison Hinds. 

DJ Heavy continues to reinvent himself and gives any event whether it’s at a Club, College, Wedding, Private, or Corporate 100% to keep all his fans, clients and supporters pleased.
